Youth Suicide Is Influenced By Depression - 2500 Words

Introduction This year for the thesis time of the month, themes were American Social Concerns. There were many topics but the one chosen, youth suicide. This stood out mainly because it was something that sparked. This was very beneficial because, if looking at the title name and getting many thoughts and questions then this would be a great thesis topic. The question that stood out was, â€Å"What influences youth suicide?† As figured, being extolled at the amount of credible information received,inspired this thesis. From all of my gathered information, which was a lot might I add, a final conclusion was made, youth suicide is influenced by depression, abuse, and/or stress. Depression Youth suicide, the deliberate act of killing oneself, is usually between the ages of 15-24. Based on research, youth suicide is the third leading cause of death. To me, this was not surprising and it also inspired my question. The third leading cause of death must have influences, right? Influences on youth suicide 6 Depression means, in this case, a mental state of altered mood characterized by feelings of sadness, despair, and discouragement. Depression plays a huge part in youth suicide considering it’s the number one cause for suicide today.
